"Dream of Century" Concert

Location: Beijing
Source: sina.com

Alec and Vicki were seen on stage at the “Dream of Century” concert, marking the centennial of China’s film industry. No additional news have been reported. It is up to fans’ imagination to stir up the events that would occur at AV’s last gathering in 2005. Of course, we are expecting many more rendezvous in 2006. 😉 Best wishes to Alec as he pursues his dream of participating in artistic films and to Vicki as she obtains her Masters! Okay, time for a tiny speculation: Vicki has always placed emphasis on being in artistic movies, and Alec repeatedly mentioned his passion for further education. Now take a look at their paths! Guess who influenced who? *WINK*

AV at LV Grand Opening

Both Alec and Vicki were guests at the opening of a Louis Vuitton shop in Beijing. [Vicki was presented the honor of cutting the red ribbon.] More interestingly, they pose for a picture together. Though standing in between two lovely ladies, notice the proximity to Alec’s left and where he placed his hand… 😉

After their public appearance together, the two privately dined. Unfortunately for them (but very lucky for us), reporters were there to snapshot their “romantic rendezvous”. 😉 I can’t wait to hear the story from Alec and Vicki themselves instead of relying merely on my imagination. 😛 An interview must be scheduled!!! 🙂 BTW, can anyone make out the image clearly? I can only see Alec sitting nearby a plant, with Vicki sitting next to him, holding chopsticks. The other picture has Vicki putting on a red coat, casually attired in white. It was reported that Alec and Vicki arrived around 11PM, and stayed until a quarter after midnight.

Alec's Birthday

A fellow AV fan attended Alec’s birthday party with a surprise present from… Vicki! Well, to be precise, she was present at Vicki’s autograph session and had asked Vicki to sign her CD *to Su You Peng*. Vicki obliged willingly, with a smile, saying “thank you la”. And when Alec received this autographed CD from Vicki, his expression is priceless…

The Abstract: After three years of absence, golden couple Alec Su and Vicki Zhao re-appeared on stage together for the first time at a Kite Festival. After a short interview together, Vicki sang QSSYMM and Eternal Shakespeare whereas Alec sang Principle of Happiness, Don’t You Know I’m Waiting for You, and Love. [A video clip is available within our concerts section]

Backstage Interview: For the opening performance at the Kite Festival, Zhao Wei led by singing ‘Romance in the Rain’, followed by Alec Su’s appearance onstage. At the Hotel in which he stayed after the closure of the ceremony, when we asked him of his relationship with Zhao Wei, Alec responded: “Zhao Wei and I are very good friends. Zhao Wei’s character is very strong – she has a very subjective disposition. She’s very frank/open, quite unlike the ‘wishy-washy’ type of girl. When we are together, one may say that we are (like brothers) genuinely close friends.

The Abstract: Vicki’s Gradually and Rainy Sunday won top 10 and Vicki herself won “Most Popular Female Singer” award, whose presenter was Alec Su You Peng. Much to fans’ disappointment, however, Vicki was not present on this glorious night. But don’t be sad for too long as excited Mr. Su received the award on her behalf. 😉 A video clip is available within our newsclips section, and the transcript is translated below by Fettfur:

Alec: The award we’re about to present is the Mainland China Most Popular Male/Female Singer. Actually the Taiwan and Hong Kong Most Popular Male/Female Singer awards have just been given out, and they left out an important point, which is that the judging for this category is 80% fan voting and 20% expert evaluation.

Bingbing: Expert evaluation is for the most part the expression of the fans’ heart-felt sentiments, and it’s all in this envelope.

Alec: So the award in my hands is one that can reflect the fans’ favourite singers.

Bingbing: So this one is more special. Don’t look at the screen, all the decisions are in our envelope. Mainland Most Popular Male/Female Singer-

Alec: The winning Male Singer is…

Bingbing: Wa!

Alec: Sun Nan.

Bingbing: The Female Singer is…

Both: Vicki Zhao.

Alec: In that case I’ll help Vicki take her award, no matter what/at any rate we have a bit of a relation… Right, both of us will accept this award on Vicki’s behalf, thank you everyone. (laughs and hands it to the representative)

Representative: I’m sorry, I’ll explain to everybody, Miss Vicki Zhao is absent because of work commitments. She’s extremely grateful to all the fans for their support, and I thank everyone for their support of the record company as well.

Best Onscreen Couple

Nearing Valentine’s Day, Sohu conducted a poll for the “Best Onscreen Couple” and AV emerged as clear winners, not only for its nominated category of “Mainland China Couple” but each and every category! Unfortunately, this happy, little piece of news did not have its expected effects – neither were there interviews nor opinions upon the matter. Nonetheless, the poll demonstrated the unity and undying desires of fans.
